Accord for Community Development Conducted a Tax Payment Awareness Campaign in Bori, Khana Local Government on the 24th May, 2016. There is no better way to mobilize citizens behind Government programs than to raise developmental funds through their taxes and levy, which makes them partners to promote good governance and social service improvement in the local governance.

Accord for Community Development specialises in the provision of sustainable development initiatives in rural marginal communities as well as disadvantaged urban centres.

Therefore, Accord for community Development in a bid to encourage the public to pay their taxes and as part of activities under the LEAD Project, organized one day Tax Payment Awareness Campaign through a rally using road talk, IEC materials and Police Band to sensitize the general public in markets, schools, business centres and individual business owners operating in khana LGA to pay their taxes for improve service delivery. The rally took-off from the Council Secretariat and participants marched through the major roads in Bori, to the market and back to the Council Secretariat. Three media houses covered the event; Nigeria Info (92.3), Cool FM (95.90) and WAZOBIA. About 100 community members participated in the rally. No fewer than 900 persons were reached “PAY YOUR TAX, MAKE KHANA BETTER was the slogan (message) of the campaign.
