Recently, the political and Cultists related activities have arrowed violent actions that has resulted to loss of lives and properties, the effects may influence communal clashes which will threaten livelihoods, incomes, access to social services especially health and infrastructures, and compromising the stability and peaceful co-existence in most local communities.
These conflicts are in most instances localized, the participants trained plays significant role by undertaking pre-emptive conflict mitigation, peace building and mediation measures. In a bid to improve the knowledge and skill of RTI-LEAD project beneficiaries in Khana to handle and mitigating conflict related issues.
Accord organized a-2-day workshop on Conflict Sensitivity and Peace Building. The objective is to sharpening the sensitivity of community leaders to forestall measures if or when faced with early warning signs that may have conflict potentials. The training which had (female 8 and male 18) 26 participants held on 27-28 April, 2016 have increased the capacity and responsiveness for conflict mitigation, reconciliation and peace building of the selected leaders from the communities and council staffs of Khana LGA.
