In a bid to foster and support education in the Niger Delta region, Accord for Community Development sponsored the bi – annual inter house sports competition of Our Kings International School, located at Okporo Road, Eliowhani. Off East West Road, Port Harcout, It was an eventful day, full of fun and exciting activities ranging from track to field events and march past.
The students in the Yellow house who took the 3rd position in the competition were full of smiles in their colourful sports kit with the inscription Accord for Community Development written at the back of their t-shirt.
Inter – house sports are extra – curricular activities of a school which develops students’ social, team-working and organizational (amongst others) skills. The idea of the sponsorship is to promote sportsmanship and nurture the competitive spirit among the students as well as encourage their active participation in sports.
Accord for community development has over the years sponsored various school activities and are currently implementing School outreach program which focuses on providing in-school adolescents and young people with information on Value Clarification and Self Esteem, Comprehensive Sexuality Education, Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).
