Project Advisory Committee (PAC) in the month of January 2016, embark on a joint monitoring visit to Waltersmith GMOU Project sites for inspection of work done by contractors, this is a periodic exercise by which payments are made to contractors according to their respective milestone achieved, sited visited by the PAC include:
- Construction of VIP Toilet and Borehole in Secondary Commercial School, ASSA
- Drainage of UMUOBI Road in ASSA Community
- Construction of Six (6) Classroom Block in Secondary Commercial School, ASSA
Waltersmith Petroman, through the GMoU initiative (Ibigwe Field Development Project) undertakes the Construction of 6 VIP Toilet & a Borehole for Secondary Commercial School in ASSA-OHAJI. The project seek to improve sanitary condition and to provide portable drinking water in school. Thus cut down chain of transmission of disease among school children. Within the aged Secondary Commercial School in ASSA-OHAJI of Imo State, the Ibigwe Field Development Project is also constructing a six (6) classroom block to maintain the capacity of enrollment of pupils in the school.
The UMUOBI road is a major access road for the people of ASSA community –made up of four villages namely: Awoma, Idegele, Umuobi, Umugama and Obosa and of which their livelihood sustenance largely depends on farming. Farmers and small business people convey goods and farm produce through this road to the community. The ongoing Construction of Drainage System at UMUOBI Road will reduce flooding, loss of properties and will extend lifespan of UMUODI Road.
